Sort Variables

The Sort Variables OmicData menu item permanently sorts (until the next sort) the variables in a dataset. It is used as a way to sort the variables so that they always appear in a certain manner for all views for that dataset. It works on any data type. No new dataset is generated in the Solution Explorer as a result of this command.

First, the user must choose which dataset upon which to run the sort command:

Once the dataset is selected, the Sort Variables window is opened.

The user can sort by up to 4 columns in the Annotation table, in either ascending or descending order.
